Package Underwriter

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate new business submissions for appetite acceptability, proper pricing, and profitability.
• Negotiate new business quotes and renewals with producer partners leading to the binding of business
• Maintain underwriting files and prepare reports and presentations as required
• Act as a liaison between various departments including accounting, claims and loss control.
• Approve and issue endorsement requests per underwriting guidelines and service guidelines
• Work with other underwriters/departments to drive multi-line sales on individual accounts

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5+ years of commercial package underwriting experience
• Experience with non-profits or human services
• Strong knowledge of insurance rating, forms and coverages
• Ability to make timely decisions with appropriate information and consultation
• Proven track record of building strong business relationships with agents and insureds
• Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment to drive results
