Fraud Operations Lead
As the Fraud Operations Lead, you will lead the team responsible for protecting Shakepay and its customers from fraud, abuse, and financial risk while enabling scalable growth and a best-in-class customer experience. You will drive operational excellence across risk operations, evolve our fraud prevention capabilities, and help shape the future of risk management at Shakepay.
This role requires a strong operator with deep experience in fraud and risk, excellent people leadership skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, product, design, data, compliance, and operations teams. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, working within evolving systems and data environments, and balancing risk mitigation with customer experience and operational scalability.
You combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and are energized by solving complex operational problems in a fast-moving crypto environment.
Crypto experience is required for this role.
You will
- Lead and develop the team responsible for protecting Shakepay’s platform and customers from fraud, abuse, scams, and financial risk.
- Own operational performance across fraud operations, including team capacity planning, prioritization, escalation management, and continuous process improvement.
- Act as the DRI for key fraud and risk initiatives, driving alignment and execution across engineering, product, design, data, compliance, and operations teams.
- Drive the evolution of Shakepay’s fraud prevention and risk operations capabilities, balancing automation, controls, customer experience, and operational scalability.
- Work closely with engineering and data teams to improve risk tooling, operational workflows, detection systems, and reporting infrastructure.
- Use data and operational insights to identify emerging fraud trends, improve decisioning strategies, and optimize operational efficiency.
- Champion customer-centric fraud and security experiences across the product journey.
- Help scale risk operations across current and future financial services products while improving cross-functional coordination and reducing operational silos.
- Foster a high-accountability, high-performance team culture through strong coaching, operational rigor, and clear ownership.
Must have
- 5+ years of experience leading risk, fraud, trust & safety, or operational risk functions within fintech, crypto, payments, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, including blockchain transactions, fraud vectors, scam typologies, and operational risk in digital asset platforms.
- Proven experience managing and coaching high-performing operational teams in fast-paced environments.
