About the role

What You’ll Do

Create New Funding Opportunities
Own the overall fundraising strategy and execution across foundations, high-net-worth individuals, and corporates. Focus on identifying and creating new opportunities and pathways—not just managing what already exists.

Build to $10M+ Annually
Build a fundraising program that can reach $10M+ a year. Set the strategy, build the pipeline, and lead the team to get there from the ground up.

Make the Fundraising System Repeatable
Put clear systems in place so the team can consistently develop and close opportunities year after year and create visibility across the organization into pipeline progress.

Collaborate Across Disciplines
Partner closely with Marketing, Impact Investing, Finance, and Technology teams to identify and pursue opportunities that require cross-functional approaches.

Lead and Develop the Team
Set a high performance bar, hire great talent and build a strong cohesive team culture.

Represent Kiva Externally
Serve as a key external leader for Kiva—building relationships with major funders and partners and representing the organization with credibility on a global stage.

At this time, we can only consider applicants with authorization to work in the United States on a permanent, full-time basis; unfortunately we cannot provide visa sponsorship.

You Might Be a Fit If You

  • Are deeply mission-driven, with a strong sense of doing what is right, and willing to stand up for it
  • Lead with authenticity and integrity, and build trust with partners and stakeholders
  • Are a builder who is comfortable starting from ambiguity and turning ideas into programs that perform
  • Work exceptionally well as part of a team, putting shared outcomes ahead of individual credit
  • Can operate at both the strategic and execution level—setting direction while driving follow-through
  • Enjoy storytelling and building genuine, long-term partnerships
  • Have 12+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and/or partnerships, including owning a program that reached or approached $10M+ annually
  • Have led senior teams and operated at the executive level, including working effectively with boards
  • Experience in impact investing or blended finance is a plus
