Summary:
The Director of FP&A is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, responsible for driving financial strategy, planning, and analysis across the business. This role is equal parts strategic leader and hands-on contributor, managing a lean FP&A team while staying deeply embedded in the work. The Director will foster a culture of excellence within the team, setting a high bar for quality, continuous improvement, and professional growth. This role will serve as a key financial partner to business leaders, translating data into decisions and ensuring the finance function operates with the speed and precision the business demands.
In This Role, You Will:
- Own the financial forecast and budgeting process, including long-range planning, scenario modeling, and underlying models; track performance against targets and address variances to keep the company on track
- Oversee monthly reporting packages and variance analysis across income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and present financial reporting packages for executive leadership and the board, translating complex financial data into clear strategic narratives
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, delivering actionable insights to senior leadership
- Partner with senior leadership on capital allocation and strategic investment decisions, providing the financial rigor and scenario analysis needed to deploy resources effectively
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to the FP&A team, ensuring they achieve their goals and grow professionally
- Partner with Accounting to align on the close process, ensure accurate actuals handoff, and continuously improve the speed and quality of financial reporting
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to Operations, Sales, and Marketing - embedding financial transparency, improving forecast accuracy, and driving measurable ROI across business units
- Collaborate with Revenue Operations and Customer Success to surface customer trends that sharpen forecast accuracy and proactively flag risks and opportunities
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience in finance, with 2-4 years in a leadership role
- Experience working in SaaS with a deep understanding of core SaaS metrics and financial practices
- Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies that drive business success
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting
- Expertise in leading and managing finance teams, with a focus on professional development
- Proficiency in financial modeling and the use of financial software and tools
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives
