Data Center Design Engineer

The Job
We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Data Center Design Engineer to lead our data center projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data center design, construction, and operations, with a strong background in engineering and project management; roles in operations are a plus but not required. This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of data center projects, from initial design through to commissioning and operational handover.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of new data center facilities, including electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems.
- Develop detailed design specifications, drawings, and documentation for data center infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including construction, operations, and IT to ensure designs meet business requirements.
- Manage external engineering consultants and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new data center locations.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes, and best practices.
- Support the commissioning process and work with operations teams to ensure smooth handover.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability of data center designs.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in data center design and operations.
