Business Development Lead, Care Partnerships
About the role
About The Role
Headway's Care Partnerships team is building the behavioral health referral infrastructure for every health system in the US. Our BD team identifies, qualifies, and launches new health system partnerships — and we're scaling fast. As a BD Lead, Care Partnerships, you'll own the full BD motion for mid-market health system opportunities in your territory — from prospecting and cold outreach through qualification, pitching, and launch. You'll be the face of Headway to care management and clinical operations leaders, building relationships that turn into lasting referral partnerships. You'll also support our Associate Principals on larger enterprise deals and help mentor our growing BDR team.
You will:
- Own and drive mid-market health system opportunities from first touch through launch
- Build relationships with Director+ care management, population health, and clinical operations leaders
- Run outbound and manage inbound leads across your assigned states
- Develop account strategies that consider long-term adoption, not just short-term wins
- Support Associate Principals with research, prep, and account coverage on enterprise opportunities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Partner Success, Product, and Operations to ensure successful launches
You will love this role if:
- You have 5+ years of full-cycle BD or sales experience in healthcare, health tech, or a related industry
- You've sold into health systems, clinics, or provider organizations and understand care management workflows
- You are a strong relationship builder who can earn trust with Director+ leaders
- You can own a pipeline end-to-end — prospecting, qualifying, pitching, and closing
- You are strategic and scrappy — you think long-term about accounts but aren't afraid to pick up the phone
- You are a clear, concise communicator who can pitch Headway's value prop with credibility
- You seek an environment that fosters individual growth through open-feedback and high-autonomy
- You are motivated by the opportunity to face off against one of our generation’s defining problems: access to mental healthcare
